19th C. Tunstall, England, Jack and Jill Transferware Child's Alphabet Plate made in Vienna austian with a latch on theI love this one for the depiction of the fallen Jack and Jill, tumbling dramatically done the hill, feeling a bit Alice in Wonderland y to me. Terrifically rich hand painted color over the transfer, and then of course I love the lettering on the alphabet marching along the rest of the plate like Victorian carved bone spelling letters, too. 7 3 8" in diameter. Good overall condition, with a couple of rim chips as documented. Stamped Turnstall, England
