and just loved it for how mid-century it feels and for its almost manic quality
All are rendered in vivid color with wonderful detail
I think there's nothing like weathered and scuffed creamy white paint on wood
14" x 9" x 11/16" with two eye hooks along the top for hanging
I believe it was likely once framed as there are lines along the far right side and top edge
Fabulous Large Framed Antique Theorem Painting of Flowers in Urn pill box and just loved it forA beautiful example of a 19th century gouache watercolor theorem painting, with the urn and flowers cut out and pasted to the backing paper in the true theorem stencil manner. I like this one as much as any I have seen, with its bold, perfectly resolved composition, super rich color, and fine detail. Really a beauty I think, in excellent condition, I would guess mid 19th century. Sold in the frame I found it in, which is in very good condition.
